I was genuinely captivated by the script; it’s one of the best scripts I’ve ever encountered in my career. I felt an immediate connection with the character, like I was portraying a part of myself. Plus, I had the freedom to express myself through clothing, mannerisms, and speech, which was quite liberating.
Speaking about divorce and its portrayal in “101 Talaqain,” she mentioned, “I believe the responsibility for the script’s handling lies with the director and producer. When I first read the script, I was genuinely impressed with how well it was written and executed. It didn’t bother me in the least because the story of divorce was presented in a subtle and delicate manner. The drama depicted how minor issues can lead to thoughts of divorce, portraying it in a relatable, natural way. Zahid Ahmed’s performance was outstanding; he played an unconventional lawyer who, instead of the usual seriousness, brought dancing, singing, and a keen interest in saving relationships to the forefront. Zahid Ahmed’s portrayal was exceptional.
